KHAZANAH GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP

Yayasan Khazanah is seeking young talented Malaysians with great leadership potential. As part of our efforts to build a cadre of future leaders, we are offering scholarships to all Malaysians who are planning to pursue, or currently pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies at premier universi¬ties in the United Kingdom or the United States.

If you have an outstanding academic track record, proven leadership skills in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities and the necessary motivation and determination to succeed, you are invited to apply for the 2008 Khazanah Global Scholarship.

The scholarships are applicable to any of the disciplines below:

1. Business: Economics, Finance, Investment, Law, Actuarial Science

2. Bio-medical sciences: Bio-engineering, Bio-informatics, Molecular Biology, Food technology, Genomics, Bio-technology

3. Engineering: Electronics, Micro-electronics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology

Other related courses would also be considered.

The Khazanah Scholarship Awards is a full scholarship. It covers tuition and college fees, other academic related fees, maintenance allowance, and health insurance.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES

A. FOUNDATION STUDIES

Open to eligible candidates to pursue foundation studies and upon successful completion, to continue at the undergraduate level at premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States.

Eligibility

1. Obtained a minimum of 8A1’s in SPM 2007
2. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular activities
3. Not exceeding 18 years of age as at 1 January 2008
4. Medically fit.
   

B. UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES

Open to eligible candidates who have obtained admission to pursue or are currently pursuing undergraduate studies in any of the premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States.

Eligibility

1. Candidates must have a consistent outstanding academic performance in the one of the following:
1. For A-Levels: 3A's and 1B
2. For Foundation Studies: minimum 3.75 CGPA
3. For Bachelor's degree: minimum of 3.5 CGPA
2. Not exceeding 21 years of age as at 1 January 2008
3. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular activities
4. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both oral and written)
5. Medically fit
6. Not bonded nor a recipient of scholarship or other financial assistance from any organisation.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

C. MASTERS DEGREE

Open to eligible candidates who have obtained admission to pursue graduate studies at premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States.

Eligibility

1. Not exceeding 35 years of age as at 1 January 2008
2. Bachelor's Degree with minimum second class upper (Hons.) or equivalent from a Malaysian or foreign university
3. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular activities, social and voluntary activities
4. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both oral and written)
5. Medically fit
6. Not bonded nor a recipient of scholarship or other financial assistance from any organisation.

D. Phd

Open to eligible candidates who have obtained admission to pursue or are currently pursuing doctoral studies at premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States.

Eligibility

1. Not exceeding 40 years of age as at 1 January 2008
2. Obtained a distinction or 'A' grade average or equivalent (if there is a point system) at Masters level
3. Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular activities, social or voluntary activities
4. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both oral and written)
5. Medically fit
6. Not bonded nor a recipient of scholarship or other financial assistance from any organisation.
